OK so this is day two in Africa/Senegal, and I must say that this has to be one of the best summers so far. I mean its just a eye opener not even for African Americans that have not been to Africa but for any race. And I also think that everyone should come here at least once. Its just my thought but I feel like people have misconception that most Africans are dirty and live in the slums and can not take care of themselves. My professor made a excellent point, people think this and that until they come over and take a look for themselves.. They live just like us, everyone has a struggle but we all find means to get by. Another thing that bothers me is that, People seem to associate AIDS with Africa. WHY?….. When Aids is everywhere… The person you work with could have AIDS. it’s the silent killer. We just need to stop being so judgmental and understand.
WELCOME

So true. Remember it was other people that portrayed africa like that in movies. I am glad you got to se it for yourself. I appreciate the fact that you are sharing your journey w/others. Let you peers young women and black men know what Africa is really like. Continue the journey my strong Black son. Let God continue to work with you, and through you.
